It is so fun to see life through the eyes of a 3 year old. His innocent little world revolves around superheros and snacks. "to the rescue!" is something I will never tire of hearing from his room. I am soaking it all in with gratitude, because I know they are fleeting moments that will all be gone too soon.

Wonderful Wednesday
The kids and I try to do something fun on Wednesdays because daddy has class and Mommy doesn't want to cook dinner! What better way to celebrate than waffles and chocolate milk at the counter at WH and a trip to the library! I am so thankful that my kids love the library, (well books in general) as much as I do.

1st day of soccer practice for both kiddos. Grateful to have such healthy babies and the freedom to play and participate in such wonderful programs. Even if Jack wore my sunglasses for half the practice then decided it was time to be done and refused to go back in.

I am grateful that there are moments that I can savor the love shared between Jack and Elizabeth. There are so many times that I catch them having a sweet moment that I wish I had my camera or wish that I could remember the moment forever. Because the moments are usually fleeting...and tonight when I tried to capture the moment....well, you can see what happened.

so todays post....not as profound, not as thought provoked...but I am thankful nonetheless.

The photo taken tonight shows one of Jack's favorite things to do...play in the sink with soapy water. I rarely let him because a) he makes a huge mess on the counters and floor and b) he usually wets his pants while playing. Tonight when he begged to get the step stool out and "cook dinner" in the sink, I was reminded of a quote I read not too long ago that says:
If you don’t fight for joy, it’s your children who lose.
What do I want my children to remember--my joy in clean floors, in laundry that is finally finished, in toys that are put away--or my joy that comes from something bigger?
You will be most remembered -- by what brought you most joy.
The joy of the Lord is your strength and this is my unassailable joy- and the battle for joy is nothing less than fighting the good fight of faith.
